Crossman air rifle problem
Hey all,
I’ve purchased an air rifle for my kids to learn some gun safety. Straight out of the box, it will not propel the pellets unless I push the pellet down the barrel about 1cm. The gun is a crossman .177 and only shoots 495fps. Once I push the pellet down that little bit, it seems to shoot fine but will not shoot it if you just push it flush with the barrel. I’ve tried a few different styles and manufactures of the pellets with no luck. Anyone have any ideas for me on what to check next? I’m not having very much luck in my searches. Daryl |
see below
I'd take it back.

Posting the model would help. PCP, springer, co2, pumper?

I'd return it and get a replacement.
I recently bought a new spring-piston Diana 24 in .22, and opted against a more readily available Crosman. Crosman seemed to always get things right in the cheap airgun business, especially with the pump-up pneumatics. From what I've seen/used of the more recently made ones? No thanks. They sell a ton of them so I'm not suggesting they're all bad...you probably just got a lemon. As for the pumpers~I got a Crosman 1377 for my 16th birthday (33 years ago :) ) and while the seals have been replaced 2 times..it still shoots like the day I got it. If someone from Crosman read that, they'd probably say they must have made those TOO well. lol |
That sounds like a weak spring or bad seals to me. I would be returning it if I was you.

no comparison between springers
Crosman and RWS/ Diana the Germans hands down better quality.Avoid the Chinese,Turkish and Spanish junk as well.
