Arrows

Shot and hunted with a PSE Laser magnum compound for years, always had aluminum arrows. Gave it up a few years ago.

Recently decided to buy a PSE Mustang 60/50 recurve bow.

What do I use for arrows ? Can I still use my existing for targets ? Draw length ?

The experts at bass pro didn't seem to have the answers.

Use feather fletchings not plastic. There are factors to consider (arrow length and point weight) that are covered in the link to determine what arrows you need. Unless you use heavier points or arrows longer than 30" a carbon arrow in 400 spine or an aluminum 2117 will probably work for your 50# bow. You get 50# at a 28" draw. Most people do not draw the full 28" on a trad bow. If your arrows shoot left it is a good indication they they are over-spined and if they shoot right, under-spined.

I'd recommend Easton 2018 Legacy or Camo Hunter.

Another consideration is that your aluminum arrows were likely set up for cock feather up and the glue on nocks will have to be true 90 deg to work with a trad bow.

Thanks guys, looks like I need to do some reading.

Can I use fiberglass arrows with a 50# bow ? On one of the links they are suggested for this bow, but on another they say not to use them over 40#.

Don’t use fiberglass arrows for anything other than bow fishing, quality carbon all the way.
