Trophy Ridge React Pro 5 Pin Sight
Anyone have any experience with the trophy Ridge React Pro 5 pin Sight? Looking at it, it is intriguing. Not sure how I feel about the self adjusting pins but from what some people are saying it is a well built site.
Let me know if you have experience or opinions about it. Morb |
Have one on my Mamba M7. Setup is pretty easy. Shoot and set for you're 20 yard pin, then shoot for you're 40 or 50 yard pin. The rest fall in line with the adjustment of the 2 aforementioned pins. Seems quite accurate for me, but i usually don't shoot much past 40. I like the larger frame of the sight, and the pins are quite slim. Also fiberoptic's catch a lot of ambient light so pins light up well. Haven't found need to turn on the light even at dusk.

Love mine.

I don't have the Pro but I have had the original since it came out a few years ago. I do like it as well. It has never given me any problems with adjustment. I sight it in by setting the 20 yard pin in the body where I want it and then move the body to get it set. Then I went to 30 yards to get the rest of the pins set. I got it in the winter and was sighting it in indoors.
Once it got to the point when shooting outside was fun again, I started setting the pins further out. The closer you can get the pins at 40 or 50, the better set the pin is at 30 is the way the science behind it is supposed to work. |
Thanks guys
Looking at lots of different options right now and this one kept popping up. Obviously I have to look at Spot Hogg, CBE etc. but it is great to know that there are good reviews for the Trophy Ridge as well.

The other sight I was looking at is the CBE Tek Hybrid. A few bucks more but another option that should work well.

Expect the ship dates a bit late they got busy.
I got my Fast Eddie XL last week ordered it about 4 or 5 weeks ago. I want to do a simple review and post it here but have a lot of stuff going on at this time plus spring turkey season is about start and am getting ready for that. Only regrets on ordering the Fast Eddie was I didn't do a custom order on the pins to save money, I did specify .19 rather than .10s but did not choose colors. I have a 3 pin and the factory colors are green, red, green. Brightness and size is fine but the greens do look a tad brighter than the red. Could simply be my old eyes but that's how I see it. Either way it's ok, blue may have looked star burst and yellow may have looked dimmer than the red so I ok with what I have. One thing I do have to say about this sight is yea it's tough and you can adjust every which way up and down on Sundays for about any bow out there. Very nice. :-) My only concern is possible noise or vibration on the shot, we shall see. With turkey season only a couple of weeks away I may not have time to sight in the FE and get back to you all, but will follow up it soon as I can. Was hoping LC may be able to get his set up and do a review, would like to hear his thoughts myself. |
There is a trophy ridge react 5 pin for sale on the archery buy and sell for $100.00 right now. I just saw it there, and remembered your thread. It says $125, but it's at $100 on the bumped ad. If you were still planning on checking it out. I think that'd save you about $100, after taxes on a new one.

Also good info on the fast Eddie. Morb |
I just watched a video from CBE on setting up the Tek Hybrid. As much as I like my React, I think I will look into it as my next sight. I'm hoping to build up a bow in the near future as well.

Did you check out the Black Gold Ascent or Pure sights? I've had a few different sights from them and found them pretty durable for the price. My current vertical mover sights are CBE. Good as well and light weight.
I hadn't really thought about (until a buddy pointed it out)but most of the other sights have the yardage tape/dial on the off side of the riser. This causes two problems. First some quivers will not mount properly or it will be awkward to operate the dial. Second, you have to flip your bow sideways to see yardage setting. |

Has anyone ever tried the sights from Option Archery. They have a sliding pin with a seing out gang of 3-7 pins. Looks like a cool idea but have never seen one up close.
