Southern Whitefish?

Might get my first opportunity of the hard water season to go ice fishing this weekend. Interested in anything that tugs the line, and happy to catch and release. Haven't kept a fish for years, but it might be nice to bring home a couple of whitefish. Anyone having any luck or suggestions on depth at this time of year for whitefish?

Not sure about down south but the two lakes I fish recently have been producing in 20-30 feet of water.

We've seen a few whites on the camera at Rattlesnake, but were not targeting them. They've been pretty lethargic so far, 15-20 FOW

This time of year they will be sliding into the shallows. I would start at 6 ft and work my way deeper.

See them all the time in all depths but man I can’t get them to even look at what I present. Guess I best stick at what I’m good with and keep playing with the pike lol.
