Kakisa river

How many of you albertans have been to kakisa river for awesome grayling fly fishing? If so what's your favourite fly? I'm trying to see what others like compared to me.

Gonna be our first trip 1st week of July to Fort Providence for pike and heading to Kikisa on day trip. Any info would be appreciated. Always done well on the McCloud by Edson with yellow Stimulator or olive halfback.

kakisa only has grayling from late april to mid may. my favorite fly there would big stone flies or prince nymphs, as dry flies are not active during that time of year. for the mackenzie river as it is a giant body of water try and find little areas with weeds and throw dahlberg divers or any streamer thats big.

I fished the kakisa a few times when living in Yellowknife, used upstream nymphing on the fly rod and mostly pheasant tail and hair and coppers in size 10-14.
Also had a bit of luck with small wet flys, don't remember type but likely black knat and blue duns as always carry a few.
fantastic river. :)
