Cats

Anyone know of some that are big, like this one ?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...oglefthome.jpg

I do not remember where I got the picture. I seem to remember it in an e-mail , with the topic line: "Why The Dog Left Home"

Been thinking about getting a new Kitten and want a "large" type.
Only ones I know of that get this big, are the Russians. Expensive though.....

Pure bread maine coons get rather large. Cheap and easy to find...or so Im told.

I'm not sure if the pic has been fudged..but that may be a main coon.

I remember that pic from years ago, I believe it was proven as a shopped pic on snopes.

What about a Serval or a domestic Lynx? There is a guy near here that sells them, from Maidstone Sk.

There's a new breed out that is bred with a domestic cat and a bobcat. Can't remeber the name. I'll have to do a search. I think I saw the breeder in B.C.

Looked into the Lynx end of things back as far as 91 or 92. Not an option.

Russians (breeders that I found) want $800.00+.
Not an option.

I'll check out the Maine Cats....

Don't want anything with Bobcat blood. Nasty critters, Bobcats ! Lynx has a much more calm disposition (ask any trapper).

That one is legit, as per snopes. True

You must be thinking of this one which was chopped:

Time to bring this back up.
Still looking for a Russian or Maine Coon, that doesn't cost your first born.....

Can't help you find one...I have a friend who has a Maine Coon...not that big, but boy, when he starts demanding food or a bit of play...you listen :sHa_shakeshout:

You wont find a cheap Russian forest cat. We paid 850 for our last one 5 years ago. This year i messaged the breeder who is just west of Leduc and they are now wanting 2k. We have two and they are our kids. Pretty much the only breed i can have with my allergies.

Myth??? Didn't you watch Top Secret?

Cement Bench 12-28-2020 04:55 PM

one of our kitty cats weighed 25 pounds, do you need a larger cat than that?

got him locally at no cost other than getting checked out at the vets later

the.tru.albertan 12-28-2020 09:53 PM

Prices for specialty kittens has increased hugely from what I'm seeing.

We paid a lot of money (by my standards) for a Bengal kitten back in 2015. Been a great cat but the price for the same cat now is $2k plus. Pretty insane.

It's big, big business. These cats are being shipped worldwide. The last one I looked at was born in Vancouver and bought and being shipped to someone in Chile. That's just nuts.

The real special cats that are close to F1 (filial rating) are very expensive. I looked into getting a Savannah for my mom - found a good breeder in BC. $25k.... yes you read that correctly. Amazing looking animals tho. Illegal in Alberta unless F4 or higher IIRC.

This one got over 20 lbs. Fat though.

Not a good picture, but this one got well over 20 lbs. Tall, long legs as well. When I was sitting on a chair at the kitchen table, he could tap me on the shoulder without stretching. Which meant "scratch my head".
