Sometimes your faith in humanity is restored

At work today, photo retail. A middle age woman comes in with a brand new in box Pentax camera (worth $800) and explains that she won it and has no use for it and would we buy in. Tell her that we can't really do that.
She said she'd probably give it away. A young person at the counter, who was looking at buying a camera jokingly said she'd take it
The woman said fine, gave it to her and walked out.
The young person was overwhelmed (and profusely thanked the woman), as were we at the counter.
That woman just earned 1000 Karma points in my opinion.

Awesome day for all involved. Love hearing the good stories.

The woman probably won the camera on the stars lottery. There are some kind people still roaming the earth. We just need more of them.

I don't go to Timmies much, when I do, I always grab the people behind me tab.

This morning a lady and her 3 kids followed me to work, and I got a hug, like a long one.
Long night in hospital for them, as their Dad is sick.

Fed em coffee an breakfast , and made my day.
Sometimes it's the little things.

Sorry for the hijack bob.

That is awesome. Every now and then, good things do happen.

:)

Don't feel hijacked at all.
It should be a rule here...everyday there should to be at least one positive story posted.

Love stories like this. A couple of months ago, a young lady and her baby were in line in front of me at superstore. She had a fairly full cart full of groceries. Her card and credit card kept getting declined. I told her not to worry and I'd take care of it. She was incredibly grateful and I felt great about having the opportunity to help. If you're in a position to do so, you definitely should. Many people that aren't in a position to do so, do so anyway. Those are some of the greatest stories.

Awesome story...love it when people are back to being regular people again! I've done a few different things here and there much with the same tune as this thread...makes everyone feel good!

It's always been a given with my wife and I, to help people that are openly needing, it just takes a little care, for our fellow man.

My local Search and rescue was just given 2 custom snowmobiles that were used as r&d demo sleds for a spring/shock designer. Guy came in and did he could sell them but we had helped out his friends when they got stranded so it was his way of thanking us. Both sleds were about 2 years old, around 1000 miles and had 4500$ of shocks. They are few nd far between but still out there! One day I hope I’m in the position to do such things.

It's easier to report the negative which gets a huge jump on the social media etc but there are good deeds done all the time but that doesn't make for good news reporting etc.

Thanks for sharing this good deed or just all out nicety.

Thanks for a great Friday morning story. There should be one of these EVERY day.

There are still LOTS of great people around. Look at all the people that give to charity, volunteer their time in kitchens, SPCA, coaching, Goodwill Sally Anne et al. The problem is, the news and most forums focus on the negative, the bad and the salacious as it sells more.

Many, many people do wonderful things but do it anonymously so unfortunately their stories and their leadership never gets recognised or used as an example. I think even an anonymous donors should have their stories highlighted and their names kept quiet.

Tell the good stories more often and we will start to see a balance in peoples perspectives.

Nice to hear these kinds of story for a change. They happen more than most probably guess, but don't get much air time.

I believe kindness and good deeds equal good Karma.

If you ever talk to an elderly person, maybe in the last years of his/her life they fondly talk about family, memories and acts of compassion and kindness.

Some may be regretful of not having been kinder, many wished they had spent more time with the family, etc...

Nobody, ever talks about wishing they had made more money, worked more hours, climbed that corporate ladder one rung higher .... etc..

The happiness and gratification you get when helping someone, or just being kind to someone is reward enough for those who have figured it out already.

The greatest reward today belonged to the lady who gave that camera away today.
