Legendary Arms Works...yeah or nay?
Just wondering if anyone has some experience with Legendary Arms Works rifles, in particular the Professional model. They have caught my eye, just wondering how they are for accuracy? reliability? stock design/feel or any other pros/cons?
I haven't had a chance to handle one yet. Specs look good, Price seems reasonable. Thoughts? Did a "search" no results. |
I handled one at a gunshow. I really like the action and how the rifle felt, but the reviews on a few forums put me off. Have a look on longrangehunting, in the rifles, bullets section. Several guys having accuracy issues.
The stopped making the closer and the professional, came out with new models for this year and jacked the prices up. If I could find a nice used one I would jump on it and tinker to get the accuracy. But a new rifle should be decent out of the box. |
I think a Kimber Montana would be a cheaper, lighter, more accurate option. JMO.

LAW are $2500 at Prophet River. Doesn't seem like many people on AO have purchased them. Its always nice to get local feedback. I should have bought your 280ai |

If I were spending that much, I'd go for one of the Cooper rifles, but that's just me.

I have a Closer in .308 win
It ticks a lot of boxes for me. It's not perfect, but they were a lot cheaper last year when I bought it too You are welcome to shoot it if you are down towards my place "Shuuuuuuussssshhhhh. You can't post stuff like that, too many heads will explode." Hillbillyreefer |

There is Quite the weight difference, between the closer and the professional, I handled a pro, at the fort Mac gun show, Had clay ship a 22-250 closer to me, about a 1.5lb difference, closer is an outdated model, no weight specs on LAW site,
I decided against the Closer, due to weight, and ordered a cooper M51, I was impressed with the professional, it ticked a lot of boxes, for a hard wearing working rifle, for mountain hunting, and packing on foot, for days at a time. May still get one, but I want to have a look, at the cooper M92 lightweights first. |

No prob You can come by and shoot at my place if you're on the way by to Edmonton I actually really like the rifle, but there is a couple of things I'd like to adjust... Just haven't got around to fiddling |

They are a 28 Nosler and a 35 Whelen, both tackdrivers. Very smooth actions and very comfortable to shoot. |
