Speckler 06-24-2014 02:14 PM

Thanks. I was looking for some hunt control. I'm training him for no Ecollar hunting.

To quote the words of a great houndsman I know.."THAT DOG'LL HUNT!!!"

If you're gonna post a pic by accident, I think I speak for the vast majority of us when I say I'm glad it was this one!

You guys!

If you want to train and get some help from doggy people the Wild Rose Versatile Hunting Dog club here in Alberta has a training day coming up. Check the web site and if you can make it to the training day you'll make some new friends.

What you have now, in addition to some nice pictures, is a gs flusher.

Speckler 06-26-2014 09:12 AM

Lol yup

Speckler 06-26-2014 09:13 AM

I do have home train to keep within 15M of me with a check command to look back at me and see how far away he is.

Ill not do any such thing :snapoutofit:

If that's what a good dog will fetch, I'm buying the whole dang litter!

Speckler 07-13-2014 09:37 PM

Signed up to Wild Rose NAVHDA and all 3 remaining training days with them for pigeons and pheasant. Also signed up to International NAVHDA as well and got his pedigree. WOW lots of NAVHDA International Invitationals for his line in the last 3 generations. Great job Champion Sporting Dogs and Jeff Gooderham! Slyder and I will be heading to test day for Natural Ability and I am thinking UPT too because he is so close now... I will let WR NAVHDA let me know. Looks like I am back on track with my first bird dog!

Welcome

We'll see you soon. This is a club made up of volunteers. Bring an orange vest, your FAC and your shot gun, ammo. The way it usually works some one will shoot for you when you work your dog and you reciprocate.

You make the rules on what is shot, if he breaks do you want the bird shot (say no) but if it flys toward the gallery or is a low flyer the gunners may not fire, and it is a lost bird.

Safety is the key.

Have fun, bring water for the dog. There is water for traing a duck search too.

Have fun.

Be nice to the old fat guy with a cane.

Speckler 07-30-2014 09:05 AM

This is a little late but for anybody that has a hunting dog and is looking to help your pooch be all he can be NAVHDA has alot to offer handlers at all levels! Thanks guys and gals and see for more training days and August trials.
