Framed flies

I've been meaning to frame some flies for ages and finally found some time to try out. I've had to customize some frame as i didn't want to build them from scratch (at least for now), but they turned alright i think.

I made some extra for christmas gifts and I have these 3 left if anyone is interested for a last minute gift [emoji16]

There's something very satisfying about showcasing some flies, now i just need some more wall space...

Nicely done!

Very cool. This would be a great idea for a new tyer, or a youth tyer. Put in the first few they ever tied. Then look at it a year later, 10 years later, etc.

If you ever frame fishing photos - be sure to include the fly used in the frame!

Very nice work. I've been wanting to do a similar project myself. This winter may be a good time to do it. What are the frames you used called?

that would be fun, or if you kept your first flies you could frame it with the latest ones, a celebration of the evolution over the years!

i've seen some of these, they can look pretty neat, a nice way of keeping a "trophy" in C&R

Thanks Outbound.
The frames are Ikea standard ones i got a couple of years ago but never used. they're good as the frame itself is thick enough to create the shadowbox depth. I imagine they still sell them, hopefully still with a glass front as well.

What a great idea. I might have to try that out one day. Have tons of flies. Nice job
