That’s what I’m planing to use.

The scope is an SWFA HD

cowmanbob 05-05-2018 06:26 PM

Be a nice looking rig if you got rid of the clip.

Kurt505 05-05-2018 06:30 PM

And where did you get the SWFA?

I just figured with a fluted barrel you would have went with a #2 is all.

I wanted a bit of weight forward on this one.

I don't see a clip anywhere on that gun.

Great looking rig Chuck. Let me know how the variable SWFA works.

rembo 05-05-2018 07:10 PM

That's darn nice.

I'll take one in a right hand Chuck.

What does it weigh as pictured?

Pathfinder76 05-05-2018 08:25 PM

8lbs 2ozs

rembo 05-05-2018 08:53 PM

Will that mag setup fit a factory BDL inlet?

It won’t, no.

That stock conversion looks like it turned out real well. Great looking paint job and even the checkering still looks fresh and sharp. Worked out to be a real nice looking gun. Only thing I would do is get a Black sling, or die this one, to match the rest of the ensemble, the one on there reminds me of guys that wear brown shoes and a blue suit.:)

Should shoot real well and heavy enough and long enough barrel to make a nice bean field type gun..

sns2 05-06-2018 05:42 AM

Super nice. Like really nice. In terms of fit and finish, that is what a custom gun should look like. I have no problem with the clip. Who ever said they have to be flush.

DLab 05-06-2018 07:34 AM

Nice clean lines ,it "flows" as they say. The mag release design and location is perfect for the intended purpose ,I really like that.
Great job!
When someone mentions a truck gun ,this isn't the usual picture that comes to mind.

bat119 05-06-2018 07:50 AM

Good looking rig
Hope you bag lots of trucks.

TargetRick 05-06-2018 07:57 AM

funny!

Good joke about a truck gun!!! :)

58thecat 05-06-2018 08:02 AM

Trucks better watch out eh!

Nice rig. A lefty to boot:sHa_shakeshout:

Pathfinder76 05-06-2018 08:23 AM

Laughing. The truck gun monicker comes from the idea that a DBM makes it a bit more convenient bailing out to chase the odd coyote.

Here are better pictures.

Nice gun. You will like that #3. I put together a somewhat similar build to yours but in 6.5X47. Finished at 8 lbs so our guns are identical weight wise. My Benchmark #3 fluted shoots very good. I'm running 130 AccuBonds at 2900 fps out of this X47. What bullet are you planning to use?

Pathfinder76 05-06-2018 09:16 AM

Not sure yet. I’m hoping to get out and try some 123 gr Scenars tomorrow.

Beeman3 05-06-2018 09:23 AM

If you will be mostly shooting deer, I recommend the 130 Berger Hunting and the 130 AccuBond. I brought both my X47's to Texas this past January and we shot 10 Whitetail and one hog. Both bullets performed excellent!
