The idea of a twoonie club came,Gongs and targets are fine--1000m hits excellant.A twoonie measures1.101 in, well thats a fairly big target.The centre measures .652. To become a club member you have to take the centre out at 100 m.The rules simple 100m distance for a shot--rifles any cal.I dont expect a big membership.Talk is cheap--Let you rifle do the talking.get your name on what I expect to be a very short list.Just duct tape a twoonie to a piece of plywood,and bang away.Then we can move to a loonie elite club--200m---300m.

X2, i don’t think advertising a contest to further destroy more currency is too smart. Maybe get yourself some big washers, masking tape, and a felt marker would be a better idea?

I didnt tell you the good part--When yo take the centre out of a twoonie at 100m any cal--Then you get to join the elite loonie club--To see were you stand you shoot at a loonie 200m--300m etc Lets see how good you are--let the rifle do the talking.

Events like Leffingwell, and BR shoots highlight such feats....... there’s zero point in shooting coins to prove, what?

You should come to shoots like Leffingwell, you’ll get a huge dose of humble pie.

To be legal just photocopy a toonie.... something pretty well all shooters can do and shoot at their local spot whereas it is unlikely they will travel to a match. Just a fun activity to focus on accuracy.

If you can hit a 10 ring or an X on a BR target, I’m pretty sure a loonie wouldn’t stand a chance.
That’s what the match attendance is about.

Stage fright or what ever is the lamest excuse I’ve heard. Toe the line, or sit out, just do one or the other.

Good accuracy is good accuracy regardless of the venue. I see the challenge in the OP being no more than a fun shooting game and recognizes that 99.9% of all shooters will never attend a formal match let alone participate in one... which doesn't mean there are some pretty decent shooters around.
The advice you give to "toe the line or sit it out" certainly spells to this challenge.
I will likely give it a whirl in a couple of weeks.

A friend of mine has a saying, “There’s no sense in being a fool if you can’t show it”, it just keeps playing over and over again when I read this thread.

My rifle knows better than to talk when it’s not time, once you get something set up for a 1000yd shoot you’ll hear my rifle talk.

When I was younger you were’nt considered a man until you joined the toonie club...:sSc_hiding:

My friend also has a saying--A fool who keep a still tongue is considered wise.Not wanting to participate,Is ok,this is about precise pinpoint accuracy at relatively close range.The hunters who try--come close--or succeed will wound less deer this year.

Sure I’ll try, sometime in December, my efforts are being channelled to hunting till then.

I doubt you’ll have much to worry about.... you have to actually hit it in order to destroy it. :sHa_shakeshout:

Just need to decide what caliber...if it just involves cutting into the center 30 cal should make it a short session ... but totally contained within the center ... a 22 cal should rule the roost.
