Cool. I’ll read a couple. Thank You.

There was a similar thread a year or two back. Maybe not on this forum though. I used that thread and my own searches to come up with a short list:
Trout Bum - Gierach A River Never Sleeps - Haig-Brown The River Why - Duncan The Longest Silence - McGuane Winter reading. Just started on the first one. |
Anything by John Gierach and Roderick Haig-Brown are worth reading. For more flyfishing technique based reading, The Gilly is indispensable.

FF books should be decided into various groups:
1) Technique 2) Damn good writing 3) Fly Tying 4) Building FF equipment 5) Ecology, Environment, Stream Rehab. Which sub-set interests you? Don |
Technique - the Practical Fly Fisherman by A.J. McClane
- Selective Trout by Swisher/Richards - The Orvis Series now on video Damn Good Writing/humour - Anything by John Geirach, Robert Traver or Roger McManus Fly Tying - The Fly Tiers Bedside Reference by Keeson/Schollmeter - Hatches by Caucci/Nastasi - and lots of others Building FF equipment - Master Guide to Building a Bamboo Fly Rod by Garrison/Carmichael - Tackle Craft by C. Boyd Pfeiffer Ecology/Environment/Stream Rehad. - Community Fisheries Involvement Program Field Manual - Ministry of Natural Resources - Ontario - How to fish from top to bottom by Sid W. Gordon - The Stream Conservation Handbook by J. Michael Miguel - The Ecology of Running Waters by H.B.N . Hynes |

I haven't read most of them (yet). Are you sure it isn't Patrick McManus not Roger McManus. I have read all of his and he is definitely one of the better humorists about fishing and outdoors
