Muir Lake

Anybody been out to Muir this year? Success?

The "unplethora" of responses suggests that either action is red hot and nobody is saying or that nothing is happening and nobody wants to admit it?

I just checked my fishing diary: June 12, 2015 was very good for some big 'bows on chironomids but that was two years ago and we know what happened in between!

I will likely try on Tuesday (June 13) and report yea or nay.

Haha,
I bet its the latter of the the two, unfortunately.
Guess I better go check for myself to see if there are any trout larger than the fresh ones from this year.

I hear you on June 2015, I had some amazing days on chronies then.
Was an absolutely bogus decision to intentionally choke the fish out, with out aeration.

Muir

Had a couple of hours to kill so went there about 2 weeks ago, off the dock the stock fish would take any dry offered to them, changed to a black balanced leech about 4 feet under an indicator and pulled 3 14 / 15 inch rainbows

Go ahead, get out there. I think most angers a waiting several years for it to recover. I know I haven't even given it a 2nd thought yet. I really have no interest in a bunch of 14-15 inches. Their okay but summer is too short for that.

Sorry snapfisher the next time a 15 inch fish takes my fly it will be severely reprimanded lol

Mr Flyguy 06-12-2017 03:34 PM

Or at least send them back to "school", so they learn how to spell properly:sign0176:

It is all good. I just find it hard to get worked up over pot hole trout of that size. They're okay...
