Best place to get 01 F150 key cut/programed?

Live in Edmonton. Bought a truck with only 1 key. We all know this is an expensive problem waiting to happen. I want to get 2 keys cut and programmed. Aside from the dealer, is there anywhere that can get the keys cut and/or programmed for a better price?

What year truck? I’ve had a hardware store or auto parts store cut a key for an older truck, 2001 with a chip. Newer keys may be a bit trickier...

I just had a chip key cut for my 2002 F-150 at Home Depot for $70

Part Source does them. They often have a 50% off sale on them as well if you can wait a little bit.

I went to CDN tire for my chev because I figured they would be cheaper. Turns out they were more than the dealer and the key is huge. Just go to the dealer

For my Ford, I just got the keys cut and followed the self programming procedure. Jeep, I ordered the keys off the net and had the local locksmith cut and program them. Beats the Stealer by a mile.

What site did you use?
I have been looking but can't find anywhere that's going work for me.
I have a 2004 GC with only one key, and the lock button got lost. Now the button (on the circuit board) itself has lost it's 'pop'. So now, my Jeep will lock on its own without warning when the key is in range. I get annoying beeps periodically all day. Needless to say its an headache waiting to happen.

Well the issue is the programming. I can certainly get it supplied and cut many different ways. But my truck does have a PATS that needs to be programmed.

Keys came from Amazon. My jeep is a 2006, so should work for you as well.

A capable locksmith did mine. They could just clone the existing key or reprogram the computer. Didn't take long and much cheaper than the dealership.

Go to amazon.ca and buy your keys for about $7.00. Then go on tube for free to program them. That’s what I did and so easy easy.🤗

Huh, what??

F150, 2006, chipped keys. Both keys lost. Dealer doesn’t do chipped keys older than 10 years. Checked with locksmiths and most don’t do chipped keys either.

I’d like to know more how you got your keys. Your keys chipped? Who cut and programmed them?

Check with different dealer. Keys should be available. Pull drivers lock cylinder and get key cut to it. Will have to be programmed. Get 2 done

If you have 2 programmed keys with a Ford cycle first key for 5 seconds, 2nd programmed key for 5 seconds then a third unprorgrammed key cycle for 5 seconds to program it. This will only work with normal PATS keys. New laser cut keys vary. Owners manual describes how to do.

Lock surgeon does almost any key for anything. Located in Edmonton.
