the cost of milsurps today

Is it just me, or has the cost of mil surplus rifles skyrocketed through the roof?
Back in 2000, I bought an original K98 re barreled to 7.62 x 51 for the price of 400.00. Now, they are going for close to 2000 today and the price of the old Lee enfield has gone way up as well. Whats with that? It can't all be inflation can it?

Supply is rapidly shrinking, demand is the same or growing. Classic economics lesson. I remember Enfileds and Mausers being $19 and they were displayed in large pickle barrels.:)

If you check out Tradex, they still have a good supply of Milsurp for very reasonable prices. Lots of stuff under $500, some under $300.
