First Big Game Animal With A Bow

On the last night of our hunt, September 24/2012, my dad and I headed to a spot that we had seen a nice bull at earlier in the week. After taking a wrong turn in the bush, we ended up in a small open area surrounded by willows and damp with ground water. We both decided that it was worth calling in this area and not long after the first cow call we heard a bull in the distance. As I got into position, my dad continued to call. Thanks to noise of this bull walking in the ground water, it was easy to tell that he was heading our way. It wasn't until he began to rake his antlers in some nearby willows that I knew he was going to be a nice moose. After about 15-20 minutes of calling and raking, i finally saw some willows moving. I quietly drew back and waited for him to walk out. Holding my draw, i finally saw the large white paddles. He was headed straight towards my dad swaying his rack back and forth showing his dominance. My dad gave one more bull call and turned him broadside for me. He continued to walk, this time right in front of me, and I released my 100 grain Slick trick at 11 yards just behind his left shoulder. After listening for him to crash, we decided to head back to camp and look for him in the morning. It was a long, sleepless night but morning came and we headed back to where the shot was made. Following the blood trail and looking for a sign, we finally found him laying down about 175 yards away from where the arrow was released. Going to remember that day forever.
