Vexilar Glo-Ring
 

Does any body use this glo- ring to help catch fish, taking some young adults later in January trying to help the outing

I mounted one on my solo flip shelter when I was wiring it up. It's a good idea in principle, but it isn't very bright. Nor is it very durable...mine broke in short order. If you mount it on your flasher or other electronics as it's intended, it would probably be much more durable. Anyways, you can make a better/brighter D.I.Y. glow cup to charge your lures. Or just use a flashlight. Cheers.

TLDR: Yes you want to use glow lures. Yes you need something to charge them. No the glo-ring isn't what you want.

Okay well thanks for the update on these things, saved me 60 to buy from amazon.ca, I will use the flashlight as a back up if I don't find, something like the glo lite.

more dollars from them.

Be careful using Amazon to buy things like the Glo-ring. Oftentimes they are quite expensive when it's not the Chinese knock-off stuff they typically peddle.

Fishing hole south side had them in stock, I think around $30ish? I was finally picking up a bag for my bed and thought about grabbing it but my crappy little uv flashlight still does the trick and I’m sure I’ll spend the money on some other fishing gear I’d use more

FWIW, I've always found a good, bright normal light to work better than a UV light. I think the UV is a sales gimmick personally. I've never found anything (including a camera flash in a reflective box) that could touch this. It also works better than your high beams for finding bad ice when you're driving out in the dark. ;)

I bought an Eagle Claw jig charging mini flashlight for like $2. It works fine.

Try to put your jig in there has a minner on it. Even some larger spoons you'd have to double dip to get the whole thing glowing. Your best bet is to pick up a flashlight.
