This is one of those things that's just not a thing.

Every year there's an article about it to stir up some controversy, but I've never once seen someone out in public losing their mind about someone wishing them a merry christmas or anything like that.

Are there some cranky Karens out there, and the odd school that ceases to have a nativity scene at its christmas pageant - sure.

But by and large, most people and establishments aren't like that. It's a non-issue, outside of some internet forums and memes on social media.

There are 2 public Christian schools in Edmonton.
Last year the alphabet people held a protest outside of each. Keep in mind these schools are K-12.
What were they protesting?
They were protesting that the Christian program wasn't promoting their values.
So no, it isn't just on internet forums.

Sometimes people just fall into the trap of promoting an agenda… whether they realize it or not.

In this instance… the government didn’t pick the date. Why the date was picked? Who knows but the initial organizer.

If dates need to be owned… I’ll have to claim a few dates for things near and dear to me before they all get snapped up. Is there any left?

That all said… it’s people freaking out that gives value and attention to any organization or special interest groups date deemed to be special.
