New gun on order!!

I can't wait! I Ordered my new cooper from Prophet river last week.

Cooper Model 92 Back country in a 280AI. Also Ordered the new Leupold VX6HD 3-18/44 with the Talley light weight rings.

It will replace my current cooper excalibur 280AI that wears the first vx6 3-18/50.

Not trying to think about it too much but there's sometbing about a new rig!

Sounds like a nice rig. Congratulations I hope it's everything you hoped for.

Nyksta 02-15-2018 03:00 PM

whats new on this model compared from the other rifle it will be replacing?

ramonmark 02-15-2018 03:07 PM

the model 92 is coopers light weight rifle. ((2 ounces) As far as I know the only thing that's the same between the two would be maybe the action?

Timothy 02-15-2018 05:29 PM

Nice buy! I've been toying with the idea of a cooper for a while now.

Do you mean 2lbs?

I had an Excalibur and it was super accurate, if it was light I'd still have it.

How long until you're going to be posting some pics of that beauty??? :thinking-006:

I meant to type 92 ounces. Hence the name model 92. When she's in my hands I'll post some pics. I'm hoping for 2-4 weeks. I still haven't even handled it, or seen it with my own eyes.

I had that same scope with an illuminated B&C reticle, loved it. Would really like one again but if they make it with a fine duplex but a similar reticle. I just like very fine crosshairs.

Zuludog 02-16-2018 02:34 AM

Congrats, sounds like a nice rig. It is definitely on my "wish list". Please post some pics, when it arrives.

sillyak 02-16-2018 08:02 AM

You have more patience than I! I would have had it shipped to my house and I would have played with it for a week before sending it for paint.

Be sure to post some good pics when it arrives!!

yes sir. The scope was at corlanes since I ordered the rifle I just told them to hold off on the cerakote until the rifle arrived. It's coming along.

Pathfinder76 03-06-2018 07:57 AM

I’m talking about the rifle.

ramonmark 03-06-2018 01:08 PM

It's was ordered last March and was in province this Feb. So yes pretty much a year.

Pathfinder76 03-06-2018 05:56 PM

They must make them to order?

Full Curl Earl 03-07-2018 12:20 AM

Time

I’m also a bit curious why you’d wait a year as opposed to a build here in Alberta? Is it cheaper to bring in a Cooper?

I just really like my Coopers. On top of that it was a fairly new firearm from Cooper and I wanted to order from Prophet River because of my dealing with them is the past. Prophet Didn't have any in stock so I had to order. It's a tease having to wait but I really didn't mind.

The only thing I had them made to order was the length of the barrel. I wanted an over all length, with the brake at 24". The standard size is 24" plus the brake, so around 26".

Here she is!

double gun 04-04-2018 04:19 PM

Is it all you hoped for?

Newview01 04-04-2018 04:24 PM

What is it about this particular firearm that made you willing to wait a year?

Zuludog 04-04-2018 05:00 PM

Looks great. How's she shoot? How's the recoil in that light of a gun in that chambering?

ramonmark 04-04-2018 06:58 PM

It feels very well balanced and handles nice. It just came in the mail this morning and I only had time to mount the scope before I had to leave for work. Ill get out in the next week or two to run a few rounds through it and then start with my ladder test. Waited a year because there wasn't much of an option.

Smokinyotes 04-04-2018 07:02 PM

Congrats on the new toy. After waiting a year I hope it shoots tiny groups.

7mmremmag 05-01-2018 08:35 AM

Ill be very interested to see how it shoots.
I just ordered my LH Model 92 two weeks ago.
I went with 7 rem mag as im not reloading anymore. Or I would have went 280ai.
