I've got a couple, Win 94 in 30-30, everybody should have one of these, just because, and a Marlin 336 in 35Rem, and two Savage 99s, 99f in 308win, and another in 303savage, levers are just cool! Next would be an 1895, caliber undecided. Dogger

I like most of them and especially like the Browning BLR takedown.I have a Marlin and a Henry as well. Henry now makes a centerfire levergun with a box magazine. They call it the longranger.

I have fun with my Rossi 92 in 38/357. great little gun and no issues as of yet....:)

Whats the action like in them thar rossi's?

Pretty rough at first. Mine was full of oil, so I stripped it down and cleaned it good. After many rounds it has slicked up good. Make sure to clean it before you use it or it will sludge up.

As a Firearms Fiend I love it all and want them all! That said, I have come to realize that actually having them all is not a good idea in reality, just way too much care and feeding so I don't collect...

yet was thinking of collecting the set of Henry original .44-40's!

I'd say that right now the original Henry Iron Frame is my favorite Lever Gun out there. I love pistol caliber carbines and these things are great in the new carbine version as well as the big rifle variants. They are awesome! I may well get into this in future years, not too certain as of now.

That said - I do enjoy them all. How can a guy go wrong? Can't be done when we're talking Lever Guns!

the best as far as I am concerned was the marlin 444 but some one busted the windows out of my truck and stole it !
so my current choice is Marlin Model 1895 GBL Lever Action Rifle, just love it on the river :sHa_shakeshout:

Nor am I about your desired toggle system. I can field strip a Marlin in the field with nothing more than a ToolMan on my belt. Good luck doing that with a Winchester. I couldn't careless if the history of either rifle are correctly stated by you guys. But I've dismantled and reassembled both, too many times. Gimme a Marlin any day. :)

Favorite is the Marlin 1895 classic in 45-70. Drives em home and drops them where they stand. Easy to clean/maintain, both in the field and at home. It's a hoot hammering the Gongs with heavy rounds too. I'm sure if I had the 1895 Cowboy that 'could' become the favourite - rather attached to that classic version though. Funny how we become rather attached to a specific rifle. Years ago I had a 336 in 30-30, wish I still had that one... If I did still have that 336 I may not have been introduced to the 1895, in this case a bigger hammer really is more fun.

Would love to collect a nice example of an 1893 Marlin, absolutely LOVE the look of those.

I've spent a fair bit of time playing with a Rossi 92. It has given me an appreciation for pistol calibre carbines. Ridiculously fun rifle, but the Marlin's really are less frustration to clean/work on.

I like them all but it depends what its going to be used for (hunting or plinking etc) I have 3 Marlins (357, 44, 45-70), 4 Henrys (3 x 22's, 357), 1 uberti, 1 winchester and a rossi 44mag. For the fun factor without breaking the bank 22's especially the silky smooth Henrys are hard to beat. If I could only have one then it would be the Marlin 1894c (357mag), very inexpensive to reload (using only 5gr of shotgun powder) but still capable of hunting deer or smaller game out to 150ish yards with hotter reloads and as all ways allot of practice.

I was talking about the 73 which is also easy to feild strip. It has the toggle action. I also prefer the 336 to the 94 of which i have both

I've got 2 BLRs - a 30-06 and 270 WSM. Awesome rifles! I won't shoot any other. I also have a Henry 22 that makes a snappy little rabbit taker. Nice and light but a bit small for my frame.

The 336 is my go to for packing to the farm as it is cheap, easy to replace, and has been reliable.

The Model 1936 is beautiful and my favorite to sit around and admire at home.

I have not owned a Marlin, Browning, or Savage but I sure enjoy plinking with my Winchester Model 94 in 32 Win Special with a Williams peep sight. Whole lotta fun.

Winchester (Japan) 92 24" Oct barrel TD. 38/40 Win. Love it. Silky smooth action. Will never be sold. :)

I only have 1..a Win 94 XTR chambered in 444 Marlin. Works great on gophers with 240 gr. cast.

Anyone here got one of them 336y's? I like the idea of the 16.25" barrel, just seen one a couple weeks ago at BPS and had to fondle it, just wondering if it's rough like alot of remlins or did it turn around?

I don't think your collection is complete unless you own a lever,i have marlins 30 30 ,45 70,browning blr 300wsm,308,and a 94 30 30,my 45 70 when I am running around guiding,it's in my boat 24/7.Also will have a savage 1899 saddle ring carbine,in 30 30 in 95 perecent shape.My bro paid 60 bucks for it in 1965 and has fired I box off ammo in it.

I've let several slip through my fingers. The one I miss the most is the Marlin 336Y (youth). That would have been a great gun for my boys. That being said I actually have a 336bl (big loop), with an 18" barrel, on the way. I'm a big fan of short and compact.

Owning a marlin is like sleeping with the town bike. You realize you made a mistake the second your done.:)

Bought one a few years ago for my wife add her main Bush rifle.fantastic short gun. It was just to heavy for her to pack around. I'm sure my 336w 20" barrel was lighter. The 336y had laminate stock. My wife made me sell it...sure wish I had kept it:-(

Ruger 96/22 - by far my favourite lever, even if it is a rimfire.

Good luck finding one - they almost never come up for sale. I still need another one.

My favourite lever is my Marlin Model 39A. It's put many a gophers and birds to rest. Next would be my Marlin 1894 in .44 mag.
