Have a win model 70 with very low round count in 7mag. Is it possible to re-barrel to 300 mag & if possible is it worth it. This one is a dbm model so I suspect the conversion to 300 mag might be difficult.

I know I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but I believe that the 300 win mag has the same bolt face as the 7 rem mag, so your action even with the DBM should readily accept the 300.

You are correct, same bolt face and same action length so there is no issue there.

I am not sure whether or not a factory barrel would work but I presume it would. A custom barrel can be fit to it without any problem, but would cost a fair bit more than getting a factory barrel installed if possible.

Good luck with it,

Yes from what I read the bolt face is the same. The total length is just slightly longer by a few thou. Tx guys.

You could, but you would save a few hundred by selling the 7 and buying the same model in 300

I would suggest this for sure.. sell the 7mm and buy a 300...

Re-Barrel it if you want, nothing wrong with that, would be an easy one.
