Who says an SPS 700 cant look good???
Here is a rifle i finally finished the other day.

Nice looking rifle. I prefer nice and round barrels myself, but well done!

Very nice job.
Once you get rid of the barrel, trigger, bolt and stock the sps is a great rifle.:) |
Awesome build Rob.
Can't wait to get my Rem 700 Long Range done. Don |
The SPS is a great rifle if you just change the stock. That looks good ( bolt is on the wrong side though ). They do shoot good with very little work.
Looks good as usual Rob.
do you flute the factory barrel or is that aftermarket?
also whats the final weight?
Factory barrel. Final weight was 5 pounds 15.7 ounces.
I've been looking for a replacement stock for my SPS 7mm . Mine shoots fine just think I could improve it
Nice work! Do you do metal work for a living? Or is it just a hobby?
Looks good!
That is a nice looking rifle.:)
Really nice looking rifle.
Rem.
Very nice work
I have to admit that is a very nice looking rifle, good job.
That's a beautiful rifle man!
Nice rig!
That looks really great!
If I had anything less than supportive to say, it would be that the graphics and finishing of the stock seem to have cost a lot of money, I think the wildcat composites run around $350? I'm just curious how that got to be so much more if you don't mind? I would have thought maybe $150-250 more than the cost of the stock itself. I also have an SPS left handed rifle, though in 300 WM, yours looks great but I'm not sure I want mine any lighter, maybe if it was a .270 Again, great work! |

The Wildcat blank is in that range, but if you have it done by a smith you need them to finish inleting, cut and shape the bolt cut out and bed before you have it painted or dipped. Plus a recoil pad. The Wildcat blanks are not drop in. The price for my Wildcat was: -Sanded and filled blank + tax and shipping: ~410 Inlet, fit and bolt cutout: $50 Bedding: $ 130 Paint: $150 Swivel install: $35 I did recoil pad myself These prices are from memory, but are in the ballpark. So the price of a Wildcat varies quite a bit depending on the amount of work you do yourself. Worth it for a stiff, strong, ergonomic and quality stock. Mine finished at 19.8oz with pad. |
Thanks for the break down on costs, I would do all of that myself, with exception to the hydro dipping.
You got a really great looking rifle, for anyone else, it may be worth while to shop around a bit for rates and such. |
The sanded and filled blank was $600 by the time it was shipped.
very nice
