Browning Xbolt dura touch peeling

I did some research and this seems like a common issue. Any how anyone got any ideas on how to refinish this stock. It’s a great shooting gun but it doesn’t look so great. Can I send it someplace and get it cericoated? Thanks.

Apparently Browning has replaced some of these stocks with non duracoat stocks under warranty. I have heard of people removing the coating, but it apparently isn't easy to do.

I will give Browning a call Monday. But as far as taking it off, it’s coming off like sun burnt skin. So I would say nothing to it. I wonder if a clear coat would maintain that carbon fibre look?

I have the x-bolt stainless stalker "carbon fibre" which is just the duratouch look of carbon fibre on brownings synthetic stock (sounds like you do too).

I had it dipped earlier this year and the guy who did it got the duratouch off but said it was a chore. I'll reach out to him to see what he did (I have a feeling some sort of solvent and some wire brush work?).

Anyone now of someone that does plastidip?

Another brilliant idea from Browning..reminiscent of their salt wood stocks :thinking-006:

I will peel it all off after this season and go with a clear coat. If it’s too ugly I will get one of those adjustable Boyd stocks and bed it. That gun shoots too good to mess with right now.
