Fly rod found in the upper Oldman
Rod and reel found in the Oldman, upstream of the FTR. I'd like to get it back to its owner, PM me with details if you think it might be yours.

Wow! Great news. Stand-up guy.

Happy ending!
I just met the owner and was able to return his rod and reel. A very nice guy, we had a good visit and he very generously gifted me a hand-crafted net and gift card. Not expected at all but very much appreciated.
Pretty interesting to hear that it was only in the water for three weeks given the amount of insect larvae in it. Thanks to Lornce for connecting us, this really is a great community! |

Yes, good to see that the rod got back "home".
Years ago I hauled out a fly rod and reel out of Muir Lake on opening day and was able to get it back to the owner simply by posting a found notice. However, was both amazed and dismayed by the number of people back on the dock who said "lucky you" or offered to buy it! A few years later somebody else had a rod and reel go overboard when a fish grabbed the fly, again at Muir. We know who found it a few days later but he refused to return it and has basically been shunned ever since! |
