Gun sight-in land- Calgary area

Hey all.
I know I'm late to the game with this, but where is a good spot to sight in the rifle around Calgary.
Most of my past spots are all gone now or have the rules changed in the area. So I'm looking for a new one for a quick afternoon run.

I'm not looking to steal anyone's sacred shooting spots, just somewhere to check the cross hairs.
The gun was good last year and brought in all my tags for me. I haven't touched the gun since then but just want to make sure i'm still good.

Any suggestions?
I'm in SE Calgary so the closer the better.

Waiperous -- with the rest of the lunatics.

Be careful.

Is it really that bad up in Waiperois?

Head up highway 40 past waiperous. There’s plenty of lease roads there, look for a large hill that’s adequate and SAFE for a backstop, and there you go. plenty of crown land and places to shoot north of waiperous.

Yes it can be.

Make sure you wait for rifle season to start then go out in a very good hunting area and bang away all day. Seems to be all the rage nowadays.

I know the date has already passed but something to remember for next year. Ghost PLUZ will still be pretty busy with recreational OHV's. I'd head up north of the red deer river on 40 towards Kiska/Wilson or bite the bullet and settle for 50 yards at an indoor range in the city.

WOW! that's a hell of a deal. I'm sad I missed that. I will for sure remember that for next year.

I go to a friends land near crossfield - and if they have cattle in the pasture, go to a different friend’s place near carstairs. I can bring you along next time i go out there, if you like. Might not be for a while though - bow season is going strong right now, and my youngest kid is looking for his first archery buck.

I went out to Waiperous yesterday.. It was a 2 hour drive from the deep south Calgary.. Not a whole lot of people out there which was nice!

Found the spot that was marked off with the large boulders, I decided to keep going and found another secluded spot with a large berm that was perfect and went back to a 100 yards.

Biggest concern for me was all the trash and brass left by the peeps before me!

Bring an extra trash bag and spend 5 mins to keep the areas clean :)
