Red Deer Butchers

Seeing as how there's tons of butcher threads going on right now....

Ill be heading out for my first day this season tomorrow. If i manage to see a buck ill hopefully be in need of a butcher shop.

my usual shop, Rocky Meats is closed from their fire, so who are you guys using now?

I've read some olds threads about Bashaw Meats and Innisfail Meats.

Ill be getting just a cut and wrap with a bit of pepperoni from the trim. I still have a bunch of cheddar elk smokies from my january cow.

I chose to use big bends here in red deer with last years moose because of the fire in rocky. They did a good job but their snags weren't as good as what rocky could make. Still under a buck a lb and their vacuum packaging is thick and done very well. I'll probably take this years elk there but I'll be finding someone else to make sausage.
I thought innisfail stopped taking wild game 15-20 years ago when they had a fire. Did somebody replace them?

i read somewhere on here that they opened up to taking wild meat again

There is a European deli about half a block east of superstore in downtown Red Deer that processes game.

The non wild stuff they sell is decent.

Check them out DK.
