Farmland meat bull

We got it done.... only took 2 weeks and a few blown stalks lol
The little man said he wanted this one so that’s what we did. Despite passing on 2 dozen different bulls looking for him again and getting somewhat frustrated, we had a blast !
Moose heart for dinner tomorrow night https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9e4d8609c8.jpg

Congratulations!!! That is a gorgeous bull. See why your sone wanted "him"! There is something special about getting the one you were after. Memories for a life time.

Lost Arrow 11-26-2020 06:47 PM

I don't know-I think in a few more years I want to go hunting with that kid! With the amount of experience that he is quickly racking up, he's going to be the subject matter expert. Congrats on a good bull. The boy's smile says it all!

Big Sky 11-26-2020 06:49 PM

Congrats to you both. Very nice bull.

Would love to hear the story of the hunt.

58thecat 11-26-2020 07:26 PM

Twisted Canuck 11-26-2020 07:36 PM

That's a good one Tork! Your son is a good judge of moose character. Good job.

Congratulations on getting your son his target bull. It’s a beauty!
I’m curious, Why do you call it a meat bull?

Moo Snukkle 11-26-2020 07:49 PM

Simply awesome! Let him know he’s ahead of the curve. My nephew just shot his first ever bull yesterday. He’s 30 years old!!! Way to go boys.

Think it was "farmland meat" as in not a bull from up north with less farmland or the foothills.

As always, I'm jealous looking through these threads. Good on you for spending quality time with your son, many don't these days.

marky_mark 11-26-2020 08:04 PM

Man, your son has a pretty big grin!

Just a bull for meat, we weren’t worried about size just filling the freezer.

We saw two big bulls while hunting for this guy, including a 52-54” bull that was standing beside this guy when we shot him. Little man said this one looked tasty, so the bigger bull got to walk away.

If I was looking for size I would have killed the 60 inch plus bull I watched for an hour up north back in September, that thing was a toad !!!

That's an education that only can be taught by a great father, great job and always nice to see the smile on his face.

Can't wait for the next thread, 2020 is going to be a year that boy will treasure for life.

Nice moose also, accelerated guide training program ,you bet.Got a good chuckle out of that in a polite way of coarse.

ALL THE BEST

Farmland moose hunting is a lot different then bush hunting for sure. Amazing what almost no predators, lots of food, and no unregulated harvest will do for the ungulate populations. We saw over 20 moose some days, some days only 10. We never hunted without seeing multiple moose each day.

That being said it is all private land, and if you don’t have access to lots of it, it can be frustrating. But like most years the farmers were great to deal with, especially if you’re polite and don’t burn around their fields rolling coal in a white lifted F350 like a D-bag lol

Wolftrapper 11-27-2020 11:33 AM

Great job. I'm happy for you and your Son.
