About the only decent ones I've handled recently were made by Henry. Somewhat expensive for a single shot however.

Im looking at the 301 stevens.

I know their 200 series rifles werent the prettiest or smoothest but they did shoot

if I was looking for this product; I'd look for a used Baikal; almost indestructible!

I agree. I have a 22Rf over 20 Gauge Baikal. Great gun, open sights I can head shoot grouse to 25 yards no problem and the 20 gauge barrel has screw in chokes. I refinished the stock when the gun was new, and it looks really good. They are built like a tank. I doubt you could ever wear it out.

just wondering how you like this firearm; I also have one but find the hammer really hard to cock.

Mine was a bit stiff at first but is really good after a season of use.

I had a Remington 812(I think it was) single shot break in 28 gauge. Beautiful, light, easy pointing gun. Wish I still had it. They made the gamut from 12 to 28. If I needed another, I’d look in that direction.

I have one.:) With the original cheap nylon sling. Bought it off a kid who needed beer money, 1000's of rounds & a lot of miles later still tight!

Another vote for the single shot Baikal. I have a .410 that I used as a kid 30 years ago and my kids are using it now, never had an issue with it. :)

I bought one of those single shot Turkish guns in 12 gauge with a 14 " barrel. Tough little gun and I could use different caliber inserts if the mood struck me.
