Scouting 408

This year I was drawn for Antlered WT in 408 Kananaskis. Anyone that knows Kananaskis knows it's a beautiful zone, and there is some WT habitat but most of that habitat seems to be in Spray Valley Provincial Park.

I did find this guy but he was safely in the Provincial Park.

When I am looking at maps, Ihunter and the Alberta Parks I can't tell if Baldy Pass Trail is off limits or what.

I found some spots to sit on but I never found any area I was really too confident in. If there is anyone who has chased WT in 408 before and you're willing to share your knowledge, I'm listening. I never went into Fortress but I might try that the next time I go out scouting, yesterday I was mostly trying to familiarize myself with the many boundaries.

Will send a PM.

My advice would be to talk to F&W in Canmore. I would pay them a visit and bring some maps. They should be able to give you some direction. Good luck.

I zoomed way in on my iHunter and Old Baldy Pass trail is covered by a Provincial Recreation Area. That's why it looks black in your screenshot. So no hunting on the trail I guess.
