Advice on Scope Ring Selection Pls?

Hello forum. I recently purchased a Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x44mm (1" tube) rifle scope to mount on my Sako A7 (7mm RM). Can anyone please recommend a brand and height of ring to match this setup?

I was thinking of going with Talley light weight rings (one piece ring/base combination), but admit that I don't have any experience in this area. Does it make a difference if the rings split horizontally or vertically?

Thank you!

I'd second the talleys, I had the same gun with a 44mm Burris scope on it and it worked with low rings but it was a tight fit, and I mean TIGHT. mediums would serve you better.

By far the best mount available but it costs...

X2 on the Near mounts. I have the rail and rings mounted on my sendero, and just ordered a rail up for my A7. Extremely happy,

Scope rings

Have the exact scope mounted on a .270 and other great optics mounted on the calibre you are mounting. I have had no ( zero issues) using Burris Signature rings. They have handled the 7mm rem mag recoil and have not budged. Also with the inserts, no ring marks. +and- ring inserts that offet less or more moa if you need it. Also they are relatively inexpensive.

I went with the lightweight Talleys on my 338 win mag. Lapped then as well and they have performed flawlessly. One piece of advice if you are installing them yourself...go and buy a fatwrench or something similar (torque wrench) as it takes the guesswork out of the equation.
