47-49” usually takes the albertaoutdoorsmen honours every year. You should enter I guess.
Just out of curiosity, how many of the 30 pounders were through the ice? |

In fact, B&C whitetails may even be more common than 50 " pike given that most years Alberta produces a few book deer, but as Dustin points out the winning pike is usually in the high 40" range. |

I usually fish Winifred 2 times a year for the last 7 years. More than some not as much as others. Lots of big fish. My PB weight 21lbs. PB length was 45” at 18.5lb. Lots in the 15-18 lb range. Love that lake.
Biggest I’ve personally seen another angler catch was shy of 50” at 27 lb. I would have thought it was heavier just by looking at the length and the giant gator head. I’d have guessed 30+. Big fish are out there, but over 50” is for sure a respectable trophy Attached : My best fly rod fish. 42” and 18 lb. Was over the limit so it was kept for my grandma |
