Drone Enthusiats Uniting

A new advocacy group for drone pilots has been started to push back against the Liberals "banning" of drone flights in Canada.

http://www.nodecampaign.org/?utm_sou...uid=HgW0xyeQcc

important that your elected officials hear how drones are safe, fun and educational. And responsible drone pilots like you are the best people to deliver that message.

To that end, we helped start the Network of Drone Enthusiasts (NODE), a new grassroots group dedicated to advocating for the interests of responsible drone pilots across the United States and Canada. NODE gives affiliated drone organizations a united voice to collaborate with legislators and regulators on developing reasonable and effective drone regulations that encourage drone use while protecting public safety.

A modest investment of your time will be invaluable in protecting your rights and the rights of fellow drone owners and pilots.

Join the Network of Drone Enthusiasts today by:

Signing up here on the website. It only takes 30 seconds!
Following NODE’s Facebook and Twitter accounts for the latest news.
Spreading the word about NODE, with friends and fellow enthusiasts across the country.

All drone pilots and fans, from do-it-yourself drone kit owners to commercial operators, are welcome to join this grassroots movement. NODE’s website will make it easy for concerned pilots to get involved and ensure they can work with their elected officials and talk about the benefits of drones and their admirable safety record.

Together, we can ensure that public safety is a priority and protect the rights of drone owners and pilots. Thanks again for your willingness to stand up and be counted.

Sincerely,
DJI

Joined. Can't hurt, even it is nothing more than a way to get our email to buy new drone from DJI.

If you enjoy the hobby, show support where it is being offered to us.

Good thread HBR.

You can thank the irresponsible idiots who flew them around airports and hovered them in front of peoples windows.

Things only remain unregulated as long as the stupidest element in our society don't regulate themselves.

Actually we generally only need more regulations when the authorities can't be bothered to enforce the regulations we already have. As long as it is illegal to defend yourself and or your property in this country you can count on many many more unenforced regulations with will lead to more of the same. The government has truly become a perpetual motion machine.

We can fight back.

For free, anyone can get a SFOC Special Flight Operation Certificate.

With that, you can
-fly within 100' of everything that is 250 feet recreational,
-fly at night with additional lighting,
-actually fly from your own yard IF you have blanket permission from any neighbor within 100' OF THE CIRCLE YOU ARE STANDING and your drone's location, for commercial, training or testing purposes
-charge for time in the air for video and picture inspections of roofs, for Realtors, gutter inspections, etc
-make a very good living at several hundred dollars per hour PLUS post processing and picture/video delivery.
-fly at/near airports if requested as long as you follow the rules

For now.

Things may change in time, but we have options. If anyone wants information on this, please PM me. I have a friend in Edmonton that does flight school and certification, well worth the price of admission.

I am going to be advertising my services shortly, soon as the weather smartens up and the sun remembers where we are. I have been asked several times to do farm houses and fields, but turned them away because I did not yet have my SFOC.

Now I can make thousands of dollars enjoying my hobby, and YOU CAN TOO! :sHa_shakeshout:

Also- we have to mark our name, address and phone number clearly on the drone.

Note- it does not specify what language, I chose binary. :sHa_sarcasticlol:
