#1 coil for muskrats

Is a #1 coilspring heavy enough to drown a muskrat on a float set??

If its in deep enough water, I use them, but add weight to them so it does the trick.

I've been told that you'll need some weights on the chain. Lug nuts are what a lot of people use. I bought 1.5 for that specific reason. Someone will be along to confirm. :)

I prefer the 1.5's. I have found I get less wring-offs because of the higher up catch on the leg. Plus you have a heavier trap that will drown your rat.
