Long Weekend Cutties

Just wanted to share some pictures of some cutties we caught over the long weekend. Nice average size and good numbers. Pulled 50 into the boat from 9:30 to 3:30... 90% were all top water as they were sipping on a small hatch. Anyways lots of fun, and check out the video... I wish all fish were that easy to land (and film at the same time)

Split, smokin report with pics! Those are some beauties. I have not had the pleasure of catching a cutty yet. One day soon....

I'm heading back to Maligne Lake with my dad in a week and half. Hope to get some bows and brookies.

Thanks for the post.

Cheers!

Splitbrow 07-04-2007 10:01 PM

Thanks..

Thanks guys it was a blast.

50BMG I will let him know you say hello...

As far as the lake guys I wish I could give ya more but I was told from a friend where to go and wouldn't want to make him mad... (he is a good fishing buddy)

Brady you would recognize the scenery, its where we talked about possibly going last fall hunting/fishing.

As far as details, originally we were trolling wet lines and doing quite well then it slowed down. Saw them sipping, switched to drys and the game was on. Oh, and one pair of sunglasses fell to the depths b/c of an aggressive hookset (quite comical)

Thanks guys...
Split.

Yup, before I saw the pics, I knew where you were.

....and well, that is all I better say about that.

Funny about the sunglasses, sure there aren't the first ones in there, and they prolly won't be the last.

Cutties

What hours you working these days? Are you at the saw or pulp?

Brady 07-06-2007 09:57 PM

Hey Split, right now I am on the 7 days a week shift, straight nights. :tongue2: :tongue2:
Oh well the paycheques are nice.

Come the end of August, I will be done for a while, and will be tramping around very close to where we met up last year, with the 'ol bow in hand. Providing the snow holds off this year, should be some good times again.

McLeod 07-07-2007 10:20 AM

Do you think there is any of those other pretty fish still in the lake ?

Splitbrow 07-07-2007 01:17 PM

Should be...

Sounds good Brady, we will have to tag up, I would love to see an arrow fly through a big 6 point bull this year. I think we had a more than enough arrows when we met up last year! haha...

Should be some fish left, we released all the ones we caught :)

are you talking about the time in 20 feet or so of fresh snow ( ;) ) , where 2 parties were calling and met up at a T- INtersection thinking each other were elk?

Splitbrow 07-07-2007 02:32 PM

haha

Yeah that sounds about right... hahaha, 5 quivers full of arrows could have done some real damage!

-NDN- 07-07-2007 03:05 PM

yeah we were on to you, and tried calling you out, LOL amazing to go from Grass one day to waist high snow in some parts the next.

Splitbrow 07-07-2007 07:41 PM

That's it...

That is the joy of that area... always a challange!
