Who is on the KETO diet right now...
On day 28, by far the easiest diet I have been on. Food had been great, and never hungry, have to force my self to eat.
|
How much have you lost?
|
21 lbs in 28 days. Eat like a trooper of the right foods.
|
Sounds like a heck of a diet.
|
My sis is on it for a while now, lost some decent weight too. I bought her a package of Bacon for xmas(if you do Keto, you know its an approved food). She loved it :)

Keto is an awesome diet to get shredded on. Once your body has become fat adapted and utilizing ketones for fuel, you are on your way.
Energy through the roof plus memory and just better mental sharpness is also noticed. I have done keto off and on the last 5 years in between bulking cycles. First time I was on it I lost 26lbs in just under 3 months. There too many success stories to dispute it... |
Its not really a diet, its a way of life. I know many like myself who are on it and I can never imagine eating candy, bread etc anymore. I tried once and it actually made me sick.
Most I know have been on it for years and are healthier than ever, rarely sick etc. I know it has given me tons of energy, better sleep and more. |

Depends on the persons goals. For me it’s a diet as I cannot sustain keto for bodybuilding. For new muscle growth I need to replenish glycogen stores and that entails the utilization of carbohydrates. Also being on keto I look flat compared to when I’m carbed up. Either way it’s great for shedding fat. |

Check it out if you have not seen the facebook group. Some shredded people and body builders on that page. |
Coming up on a year on Keto myself.
SW 285lbs CW 181lbs GW 170lbs I was diagnosed as a T2 diabetic a year prior to Keto with an A1C of 11.8, my A1C has been 5.1 for 6 mos now and HDL, and TG numbers have improved greatly. Resting heart rate went from avg of 95 bpm to 60 bpm I also went from a tight size 42 pant to a loose size 30 in that time. Keto is great as long as you understand that you should be eating "Real" foods in the macros that make sense for your body type and desired results. I've seen too many get sucked in chasing those old favourites in Keto form (breads, sweets etc.). Fat is important as it becomes your body's new fuel but the quality of that fat is just as important. The most important thing I have learned is to really understand where what I eat comes from and how it gets to me. As others have said this is really a way of life or rather a way of eating for the rest of my life. I've had a few slips along the way and it's amazing how quickly a few pounds sneak back on! Likely a result of the damage to my liver and pancreas done by a lifetime of carb addiction. With time I know Keto will cure that as well. Cheers, Scott. |

I tend to fluctuate 30-35 lbs throughout the year depending on what Im doing. Im usually heaviest June-September at around 235lbs. Then I peel it off to about 196-205 . Nothing really changes other than my intake. I eat the same stuff, just a lot less. My diet is fairly Keto I guess when I think about it....Im not adverse to carbs but the foods rich in them are not my favorites .... Best thing is that I get to have two wardrobes.!!!!!! Second best thing is no matter if Im 235 or 196, my pants are still the same waist size.....that makes things easier because jeans aren't cheap |
Good for you wabbit!!!!!

/QUOTE] There is a reason why some of the leading scientists in nutrition are beginning world wide studies in foods and correlations to diseases such as cancer. By starving the disease of it's favorite food source the cancers can be slowed and some cases reversed. Ketogenetic diet tailored to specific foods are showing promise. It's not all about cut, slash, burn and stitch anymore. |
Is this keto anything similar to the Atkins?I havent researched it one bit so this is my first question.

Join the keto gains facebook group, the whole "to much protein turns into sugar" is not as big a threat as most think. You would have to ingest a mass amount of protein for that to actually start happening. If you join the group there is alot of scientific backing into this. |

Congrats!!! Life changing... |
Yep
Wife and I have been keto for about a year and half. She has been more diligent than me. We each lost about 30 or so pounds.
My downfall is beer....I can't drink hard liquor so I drink beer. |

Lol ! |
On my second week now. First week was a little rough coming off sugar, I’m a big pop drinker. This week is a breeze. Started at 255.8lbs, currently at 246.4lbs.
Moving in the right direction! My first diet ever, never hungry. Just have to remind myself to plan ahead and have what I’m making thawed etc. I’m using Carb Manager to track my macros. It was recommended by a member back in September when I was researching the diet. It’s a great tool I find. He gave me a bunch of good info. Seems like it’s working for a lot of us in the outdoor community. Great results! I’m hoping to join you all with the success in a few months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

We did Keto for 3 months last year and I lost 40lbs. Only gained 10ish lbs back from drinking beer all summer. Mostly kept the Keto diet, just added beer. If only whiskey tasted as good to me as beer does I’d never go off Keto. I’m back on the keto this year and I’ve lost 15 lbs in a month.
What I’ve found works best for me is not to eat anything processed even if it’s keto friendly. Lettuce wrapped fast food burgers come to mind. Instead I either always pack a lunch or at worst go to a grocery store for lunch and get a 1/2 roasted chicken and raw veggies. |
