Love my LX-7, but have also used other flashers. No complaints with any of them to be perfectly honest.

Only word of advice is to research availability and price of different transducers. Dogfish

I've got a FLX-20 Ultra Pack for sale on here, barely used (literally 2 day trips) $650, PM me if interested.

i hate the cone angle available on the helix its complete dog SH!t
15 degree cone angle sucks in deep water.

The LX7 and lx9 8 degree angle is really nice

i did a comparison with them at cold lake and the helix was just annoying

it just worked "good enough"

Ive had the same issues at Cold with the helix 7 initially but if you dick around with the minimum and maximum frequencies it will work fine. This is with a summer unit and an ice ducer swap. Not sure if the dedicated ice units are set up better off the hop.
Definitely needs more space than other units it seems to avoid interference.

A vexilar with the proview is money on lakes like cold.

Well bought a hummingbird ice helix 5 GPS G2 and all I can say is wtf!! I caught fish when the other guys weren't. Why didn't I have one of these before. Haha makes fishing more enjoyable when fishing at depth and can't see **** down the hole. Did everything I wanted it too. Liked both the split view of flasher/sonar and single views. Didn't take long to figure it out as well. If you are on the fence of of buying one just do it! [emoji226] bought it at Cabela's they went down to earlier sale of 624.
