This is what I’m getting at. There was no “super sleuth” here. Someone took data from a photo for their own gain. Realized what happened. Turned it over to authorities. They tracked the coordinates and verified it by landmarks.

Or possibly the person who called it in simply recognized the territory as Canadian, like the survivalist morons eho were caught poaching fish and chopping g down trees on a National Park. Not everyone that reports someone else has anterior motives .....

X 2 and not a five year ban from hunting in Canada , a lifetime ban.
Fine was a joke.

Yukon guys are efficient and sharp

We called at 5am to our base camp after I shot a griz in self defence

Those guys landed at our lake at noon from Dawson City. They had it all figured out by 1.

I like them. Good interested smart bunch.

Yep, that’s because there are people that will use the skyline to figure out here you shot the ram.

As was the case in what this thread is about except he didnt white out his photo. Some try to hide something others dont.

yes when guiding there the boss/outfitter called something in and things were done fast. Same as when a client crashed his plane things were looked into quickly.

It could be, however in my experience the people reporting poachers for the benefits aren’t always on the up and up. I would say it’s most likely that someone was trying to find a new hunting spot. Wasn’t being good or bad.

Fines seem reasonable to me. A lot of people talk big when it’s another area.

I'd like to know how far over the line the ram was when he actually shot it.

Is this a spirit or letter of the law type of thing?

Seems to be the fact that he knew it was over the line and didn’t self report. He could of self reported and gotten the same results. Or maybe they would of seen it as an honest mistake.

The line is a 200m cleared swath that is unmistakable
